Ocean County Natural Lands Trust Fund Program
In 1997, the residents of Ocean County overwhelmingly voted to establish a 1.2 cent dedicated tax that provides the Board of Chosen Freeholders with the funds to acquire lands in Ocean County for conservation and farmland preservation. Lands that fall under this program are environmentally sensitive, natural areas or open spaces that would protect farmland, water quality, wetlands and other lands with unique or sensitive features. To date the program has protected 7,871 acres in the Barnegat Bay watershed. Click here for more information

New Jersey Green Acres Program
Through the Garden State Preservation Trust Act (1999), Green Acres receives a stable source of funding for the preservation of critical habitat across the state. Green Acres works in partnership with counties, municipalities and others to achieve a system of interconnected open spaces, the protection of which will preserve and enhance New Jersey's natural environment and its historic, scenic, and recreational resources for public use and enjoyment.
