Credentials:
Dr. Jivoff
holds a B.A. in Biology, an M.S. in Environmental Biology, and a Ph.D.
in Zoology. His credentials are too numerous to list here, but he has
conducted extensive research in the Barnegat Bay, and has been invited
to present for institutions such as the Smithsonian Marine Station, the
University of Delaware, Rutgers University, the Conrad Lorenz Institute
in Vienna, and more. He is a member of the Barnegat Bay National
Estuary Program’s Science and Technical Advisory Committee and
volunteers for many secondary school programs and local environmental
groups.
Presentation:
His
presentation could include information on Blue crab biology (especially
potential fisheries impacts on reproduction); marine invasive species in
New Jersey (especially green crabs); experiential education
opportunities at Rider University; impacts of bulkheads on species
diversity, organism abundance and habitat quality. Dr. Jivoff will need
your group to provide a computer projector.
Availability:
He will
present to your Adult, College, High School, Middle School, and
Elementary School group on weekdays (including evenings, depending on
his teaching schedule) and on weekends (including evenings). He is
willing to travel approximately 1-2 hours from the Trenton area and
would not need to be reimbursed for his travel expenses. There is no
charge for Mr. Jivoff’s program.
